Yep, the purpose of this shopping trip is to get a birthday present for our dear Ms Koh.
Though deep down in our hearts, Jinger and I both know that we r deeply & seriously addicted to shopping and that we must not continue spending money like nobody's business, we still hope that there may be a slightest chance for us to get ourselves something that we like...
Haiz~ what can I say, girls are girls...and what's more, we are Shopping Queens! =/
Can you understand the struggle that was in us?
Haha...ok. Shall stop sounding as though we had created some heinous crimes =P
Anyway, we went to Suntec and Marina Square this time round & to our surprise, we bumped upon an exhibition in Suntec! The display was about the heroes & heroines of Singapore and can you guess? We, being passionate, young trainee teachers, went almost crazy over this educational exhibition, so much so that our cameras went clicking away non-stop! =P Shall let the pictures say it all from here on!

Definition of 'Hero' =) The post-it notes that you see in the pictures above are written by the public, expressing who the ideal hero in their hearts is.

The top that we bought for Grace =)

That's us!

Today is my first Basic Theory Practice! So fun =) & I am proud to proclaim that I scored a 93% and a 96% despite my laziness to study that lil green book seriously ^^

Going for another practice tml and ta-da! Evaluation on Monday =)
Hope that everything will go smoothly for me *Winkz*
I wanna drive soon!!!!!

The photo above displays the wonderful Art masterpieces that I have completed last week. They are actually envelopes with my cutely-drawn animals pasted on them. Guess I must be too free...ArrrGGgHhH!

Anyway, just in case my animals are toooo cute to be recognised, they are actually a cow, an elephant, a chicken and a fish =) So, which of the above is your personal favourite?? =)

Ok. Today is the 24th July 2008, which means that it has been 2yrs and 5 mths since Ah Lum & I started dating *blush* Let's see where he'll bring me to for our dinner date later (^.^)

Friday
It was a shopping day with Jing Er in search of Grace's super belated birthday prezzie-oOps!
(Hopefully Grace won't get to read this =P)
We went to Orchard and guess what was the first thing we did?
To look frantically for her present? Nope...
Lunch? Try again...
Haha~ Jing Er went to trim her hair at REDS!
And following that, we went shopping... but can't seem to find something suitable for Grace =/ No luck -_- So, we girls have plan for another trip again this week! =)
Saturday
As usual, 'money-grabbing' Mendaki session in the morning and followed by lunch.
Here comes the exciting part, we watched 'The Dark Knight' with Wah and Junyang at Balestier Shaw. GOSH! Is this the legendary double-date that people have been talking about since like donkey years ago?? Heck...I must be thinking toooo much =P
The credit goes to Shaw for having this 4 tickets promotion, with a super large popcorn and 2 drinks for $39. The promotion is rather worth it...but too bad, the movie is not my cup of tea...I am sorry to say, but it's too chim and rather complicated for me.
Maybe I am a bit slow =( Damn!
After that, we went over to the newly-opened foodcourt across the street for dinner. Yup, dinner. You did not read wrongly nor did I type wrongly. OMG! Dinner after gulping that extra large popcorn? Well~*Shrugs* All I can say is, they are just not filling enough.
ok, I admit, WE are big-eaters!
Haha...Ta-da...my Saturday =)

Yesterday was an 'exciting' stay-home Wednesday! I spent about 3/4 of my non-sleeping time doing online shopping at this site that Cheng Feng recommended. The apparels and stuffs are from Taiwan and so, the designs may not be very available in Singapore. I must say, their original prices are rather cheap, so even with the shipment and postage costs, they are still cheaper than the ones we see outside =) Who says couch potatoes can't be active shoppers at the same time?!? However, one of the disadvantage is that the models featured online are the damnest sweet and slim, that makes ALL the clothes look wonderfully beautifully! Haiz~...that makes them irresistible and ta-da~ you'll realise you can't stop buying!

That's not the end of my stay-home Wednesday...in the evening, my uncle suddenly popped out of nowhere, dragging a big bag of DURIANS to my house. Can you imagine~ It's just like a live Santa Clause appearing with a big sack of presents (except that this time round, the sack is white & he came in thru the door). To my four family members who love durians to bits, they almost went crazy over this incident -_-

Me, on the other hand, was holding my breath till I almost suffocated! Durians! Why are they SO pungent?! I absolutely cannot understand what's the joy of putting smth that stinks so much into thy own mouth! OMG~ And that's not all, I guess I still have to stand that terrible stench that's still lingering around my house for the next few days =( Gosh~ H-E--L-L-P!
Somehow I am beginning to perceive that everything in the house now smells like durians and even the banana cake that I am having now has this durianie stench too!! =/

Uncle, if you can read this, bring me a bag of apples next time k? To me, they are the most wonderful fruits that ever existed! Thks! =p

Yesterday was our weekly movie day and this time round, we watched Red Cliff (part 1)! What a nice movie with breathtaking setting, a fantastic cast (with all the handsome actors =p) and a wonderful plot!
Initially, I thought I wouldn't enjoy it as much since I was not into the Chinese history & I know nuts about it. Ah Lum was the one who's very clear of these history stuffs as it has always been his area of interest...However, the show was really exciting & funny, so much so that I truly focused on every scenes of the movie faithfully!
I believe it's necessary for one to possess a lil wee bit of history background so as to fully capture the true essence of this movie =) Fortunately, Ah Lum provided me some quick pre-requisites about the Han Dynasty. I must say, this movie (& Ah Lum) has sort of aroused my interest towards the Chinese history and hopefully, by the time I watch part 2, I need no more explanations from Ah Lum! =)

I've tried it... I've finally tried it! It's the Lays cucumber flavour potato chips that I bought from Hong Kong! (Left most packet)
It tastes very cucumber-ish and it's as though I am biting on pieces of dried cucumbers. The texture is almost the same as the Lays chips in Singapore. The main point is, after enjoying some of the chips, you will feel a tingling, cooling sensation in your mouth as though you have just popped a peppermint sweet!
So...I can finally understand why they say it's 'natural & cool' on the package =) It's such a fresh and new experience, I am sure veggie supporters will surely LURVE this!

The NIE trio visited Mother Basheera & her newborn last evening! Baby Shafiqah is cute! She got quite a bit of hair even though she was just cleanly shaved a week ago. Ahem~ Must have took after her mummy =P

She was in deep sleep when we were there. Despite all the effort we took to wake her her up, she still slept on sweetly . It's ok, we shall visit you again, Baby Shafiqah! Grow up soon! =)

You should have witness the smile that was plastered on Basheera's face the whole evening..it exuded a whole lot of mother love and contentment =) You are all ready to be a mummy, Basheera!

From L-R: Mummy Basheera, Jing Er, Baby Shafiqah, Grace & me

Pictures of Grace and me before visiting Mummy Basheera and baby...We were supposed to be buying gifts for them...but look at what we were doing in the departmental store =P Too bad~this is the first time the NIE trio met up after school closed...It has been a loong loong while, so pardon us!

Yesterday was Youth Day... Another day to spend with Ah Lum since it was an official off-day for him =)

Original plan:

To learn skating from him at ECP. However...due to the sickening last-minute 'fall phobia' that Samantha unfortunately acquired at the eleventh hour, the plan was postponed after some negotiation and bargaining =(
So, after Samantha chickened out...

This was what we did:

Shop around at Bugis and then dinner at IMM -_- Compare the difference...Suddenly it didn't felt like a Youth Day...More like an 'Aged Day' for the both of us...I know, it's all my fault =( So sorry, ah Lum!

Really was wondering till when then can I learn to skate successfully...Oh my gosh~

Photo taken at Muji, Bugis. Guess what's in my hand? It's cafe from Muji! Taste a bit bitter tho...but was rather nice! =)

Yup...Movie Day at Vivo =) Watched Hancock with Weiming.
The show was rather exciting but the plot wasn't very clear as they didn't really much inform the audience why Hancock possessed that super power. So....indeed I was a lil wee bit disappointed over it.

Soon, it was dinnertime after the show and somehow we landed ourselves in Central Mall. Decided that we should be adventurous & try newby stuffs that we have not tried before and so....'Pizza Al Taglio' at L1 was our choice. It is a very nice place with delectable spagetti and beautiful, yummilicious pizzas! Just the thought about it can make me drooooooooool!
Mushroom pizza

Crayfish and seafood spaghetti
